MOUNT DAVIS - 3,213 FT.
Highest Point in Pennsylvania
June 11, 2003 (My 9th Highpoint)

Mount Davis was my first of three highpoints on this day, and was the easiest of the three. I took the PA Turnpike from Harrisburg to exit 110 (Somerset). From the turnpike, it was about a 45 minute drive to the summit on US 219 South and back country roads around Meyersdale. The route to the highpoint is well-marked.

It's a short (50 yards) walk from the parking lot to the lookout tower on the summit. On this day, the temperature was in the low 80s with a light wind. The lookout tower offers a nice view above the trees - there was a summer day camp flying paper cups with parachutes off the lookout tower. Cute kids. One of the counselors was nice enough to take a picture of me with the nice view in the background.

I don't even like the Dodgers. I found the hat in an abandoned apartment.
