CAMPBELL HILL - 1,549 FT.
Highest Point in Ohio
May 17, 2004 (My 20th Highpoint)
To complete the four-highpoint road trip, I made it to Campbell Hill on the last morning of
my trip. Note that the highpoint is outside of Bellefontaine, OH, but I was corrected on my
pronunciation; the lady at the front desk of the Greenville Inn told me it was pronounced
"bell-FOUN-tain". I took US-36 from Greenville to Urbana and then US-68 to Bellefontaine.
This can be a harrowing drive if you get behind a semi (as is true of most any drive).
The highpoint is located on the property of Ohio Hi-Point Joint Vocational School. I parked
the car and walked behind the carpentry building to the highpoint. I concluded my road trip
with a drive across the country's most deteriorated road system - Pennsylvania.
Blah.
