Variability of a Fitted Regression Line
This applet illustrates the variability of a regression line. The
applet generates random samples from a population characterized
by a line with intercept equal to 1.0 and slope of 0.5. You may
generate one sample at a time to see the fitted regression line
along with the true regression line (depicted in red). You can
also generate 1000 samples at a time. The applet shows the percentage
of time that the true slope of 0.5 is rejected by the fitted
regression lines.
