Normal Distribution
This applet illustrates the Normal distribution. There are two slider
bars which allow changing the mean and variance parameters of the
distribution. Note how changing the mean parameter shifts the density
to one side or the other. This is known as a location parameter since it
changes the location of the mean. The variance parameter is called
a shape parameter as it changes the peakedness of the density.
Several statistics are shown for the distribution below the illustration
of the density and distribution plots.
