Here are hours for sessions at which you can get help from Statistics grad
students:
Monday and Friday, 9-10 am
Friday, 1-3 pm
These sessions are held in the Blocker Open Access Lab, which
is in the Computer Center on the first floor of Blocker.
Go here for some very
useful tutorials on using SPSS.
In completing homework assignments, always make sure you answer the
questions asked in the language of the problem. Do not
simply turn in computer output.
Your final exam will be Monday, December 8 from 8 to 10
a.m. The final is comprehensive. You are responsible for all the
topics discussed in the class notes.
See p. 112 of the class notes to see which parts of the book that were
covered. As usual, your studies should concentrate on the topics
covered in the notes. The textbook is important only to the extent
that it helps you better understand these topics.
Make sure you bring the
following to the exam:
Three standard sized (8 1/2 by 11) sheets of paper with anything you wish
written on one side only.
The normal, t, F and chi-square tables from the back of your textbook.
A calculator.
Homework Assignments
Do Exercises 11.7-11.10 in your textbook. Due Friday, September 12
Note: In the following practice exam, problem 2 is not
something you'll be tested on in Exam 2. However, all the other problems on
the practice exam are fair game.
