There was a question today about the "score" in the exponential quantile plot of the emmisions data.  It is the natural logarithm of the exponential quantile; note that the data (vertical axis) are plotted on a log scale.  The reason for this is to spread the data somewhat evenly, but they should still be linear if the distribution is correct.

I cannot promise I will learn everyone's name but you can help me by sending (email) a photo of yourself.  This is not mandatory.
8/30/06
The first assignment has been posted and will be due Monday, 2 February.

The grader Rajesh Talluri has set his office hours to MWF 1–3pm.  You may find him at (Blocker 406F, 845-5719). The grader will be able to answer your homework questions but do not turn your homework in to him: he will not accept it and you need to bring it to me.
8/28/06
I have posted Assignment 0 on the assignments page.  It's to help you get started with using Minitab.  This is a practice assignment that will not be collected – but please note the Minitab options that should be set for this class.

Be sure to check these pages regularly for lecture notes, computer examples, other handouts, and homework assignments as I will not always inform you as to their availability.
8/28/06
If you have not already done so, please arrange for your Neo mail account to forward email to whatever email account you prefer.  This is in case I need to send any "urgent" messages I'd like you to receive without much delay.

If you have a question about the class, please feel free to e-mail me at dcline@stat.tamu.edu.  I may not answer immediately but I do check my e-mail regularly.  If you want to see me at a time other than my office hours you may e-mail or call (845-1443) to set up an appointment.
