Bayesian Wavelet Shrinkage: Principles and Applications

ABSTRACT: I will introduce and discuss the paradigm of Bayesian wavelet shrinkage and give a few examples at the beginning of the talk. The discussion will cover the "proper" selection of a Bayesian model that induces shrinkage in the wavelet domain. Several applications will be discussed: density estimation, spectral density estimation, turbulence data filtering, and some others.

DATE:  Thursday, November 19, 1998
TIME:  4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
PLACE:  Room 150, Blocker

Refreshments will be served in the Blocker Building, Room 447, at 3:30 p.m.
